This scarf tells the story of a Spring Rose Garden. One day in spring, a butterfly flew into a blooming rose garden. Enchanted by the blossoms, she forgot where she came from and where she wanted to go. She fell asleep on a flower, dreaming that her wings had turned into petals, and that she, too, had become a flower.
It is a signature piece of my flower printing art. Through years of practice I developed my own method that lets real flowers leave detailed imprints with good colour fastness.

Inspired by Chinese blue-and-white porcelain, I created Moonlit Spring Garden. Tannin-rich natural dyes give the deep blue background, and the plants came from my own garden.
To me they look like a garden lit by moonlight at night — the quiet, classical beauty of porcelain, and the memory of a spring that grew close to me.

About Florich Studio

Where nature leaves its own imprint

Hello, I’m Wenjuan, the artist behind Florich Studio. My studio is in Yantai, Shandong, China.

I create one-of-a-kind botanical textiles with real leaves, flowers and natural dyes on fine mulberry silk and wool. My inspiration comes from quiet moments in the garden and the changing seasons — no two pieces are ever the same.

I observe deeply, create slowly, and let nature tell its stories through my hands.

How it’s made

  • The silk is hand-dyed with natural dye extracts
  • Fresh leaves and flowers are arranged by hand
  • The fabric is rolled and steamed so the plant colours transfer
  • Unrolled and sun-dried, the colours and patterns are set

Fabrics: 16 momme mulberry silk double georgette, silk satin and wool.
